Yeah, this page definitely implies that they were both present for the initial Ruby invasion ten years ago in Old Ravarios. There’s a LOT of trauma involved on both sides, though Pen seems to be dealing with it… better?
If Pensry and Rune are the same age, are their differences due to ye olde genetic roulette, or is their species feline enough that theirs is a case of hyperfecundation (i.e., one litter can be sired by more than one father)?

They’re fraternal twins sisters! And I hadn’t imagined hyperfecundation as a thing for their lineage but that doesn’t mean it’s not possible! I always thought that was fascinating with cats…

You’ve hit the target there, the Ruby hivemind only controls people directly when it needs something specific done, otherwise individuals are left to their own devices! Some have more autonomy than others, however…
