Right now I'm gearing up for Rose City Comic Con in a few weeks, and I also got something SUPER SPECIAL in the mail along with all the new merch for the con. My prototype Deck of Many Things arrived finally, which means I can start doing the photography and getting the backerkit set up to actually make it a reality! Super excited, it looks fantastic and I'll be showing it off soon! It has genuinely taken multiple years now to finish all the art and get the prototype in my hands and I could not be more excited.

Why panic blindly about what may happen in the future, when you can read the prophecy and proceed to do a fully-informed panic about what will happen in the future?
Laurel
Fully Informed Panic seems like a much better plan, I agree.

They trust way too much into a prophecy of dubious origin 🙁
Laurel
But why have protagonists if they’re not gonna make poor choices sometimes?

Actors sitting in the green room, having nothing better to do while waiting for their cue than reading The Script™.
Laurel
The question is whether or not the script is even the correct one for the next few scenes!

Oracle: It’s lovely seeing your work. All that wonderful illumination. I just reveal what may come to pass, but this is art!
Prophet: No. I’ve come to learn that people are experts at self-deception, and Chosen Ones are no exception. You have to be blunter than the striking face of a maul designed to shatter siege golems, or your subjects will immediately creatively reinterpret your instructions to mean what they want to see, perusing their own direction directly into the jaws of ruin.
Oracle: Oh. So that’s why you’re a renowned children’s book illustrator.
Laurel
I think even if you are extremely unsubtle, there are still people who will willfully misinterpret, sadly…
Merchant of Pain
Prophet: DO AS I SAY, NOT AS YOU DAYDREAM!!!
Oracle: E… easy there partner…
Laurel
Such is the unfortunate existence of oracles…
