  1. Surely it would have flown further if Eira hadn’t said anything. She jinxed their coyote time.

    1. I am going to take the flashing gem to be the flying disc’s “Holding up a sign that says ‘Uh-Oh!'” moment of realization!!!!

      1. Absolutely the case.

  2. Yeah, that makes sense. 😅
    (Aim for a snowdrift, kids!)

    1. Hmmm… did we see snow anywhere on the way in?

  3. Meanwhile Saberic and Khari watch them pass in front of the moon like ET wondering what the hell is even that 😀

    1. It’s been a weird day for everyone.

  4. For somebody training to be a psychic, Eira has remarkably poor foresight.

    1. She’s really gonna fail that class later.

  5. Now I’m VERY wondering how our two groups of heroes are going to meet.

    1. These three definitely aren’t following the plan any more.

    2. Next page: the gyre disc group crashes onto Saberic and Khari.

      1. Following that, running from the guards with a lot of broken bones!

  6. If your magical flying disk is giving you problems, have you tried turning it on and off?

    1. Troubleshooting on the fly is a breeze!

  7. Entirely unrelated Magical flashing Gemstone?

Or will we receive some later-story revelation that the Rubies are a corrupted version of something similar to this magi-tech thing?

    1. There’s some worldbuilding stuff that I’ve been doing on Patreon that goes into more detail, but the general overview is that all magic in the world comes from gems/minerals that are mined out of the earth, and the different kinds of gems dictate what school of magic is roughly equivalent in the 5e setting. Red gems are linked to enchantment, but something happened roughly a decade ago where the gems themselves seemed to become sentient and taking over people/converting them into the hivemind. As we go farther in the story more of this will be revealed, but the magic powering this specific device is simply keyed to not work outside a certain area, i.e. the Gyre Library.
